RHS golf qualifies for sub-state

JASPER – The Russellville boys golf team placed third in the Class 5A sectional tournament Tuesday at Musgrove Country Club.
John Seal, who scored a 73 to finish second overall, Brett Fish, Brian Brown, TJ. Seagraves and E.J. Fisher competed as the top five golfers for the Golden Tigers, and they finished with a score of 321 out of 13 teams in the tournament to qualify for the sub-state tournament. Curry won the sectional title with 304 points, while Briarwood Christian finished as runner-up with 307.
Ty Trapp and Trey Mosley each played as individuals for Russellville against seven other players, and Trapp won third place with a score of 85, while Mosley came in fifth with an 88.
The sub-state tournament will be held Tuesday, May 6 at Timber Creek Golf Course in Daphne.
