A Russellville man was arrested Thursday night after law enforcement officials found the remains of a methamphetamine lab under his residence.
Police Chief Chris Hargett said his department and the Franklin County Special Response Team executed two high-risk search warrants Thursday night.
The first warrant was executed on Van Buren Street in Russellville.
Pills, ecstasy and drug paraphernalia were found at that residence but no arrests were made at that location.
Hargett said the arrest was made while executing the second search warrant at a residence on Olive Street in Russellville.
Anthony Dewayne Baker, 25, of Olive Street in Russellville, was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana, first-degree manufacturing of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, second-degree possession of marijuana and escape.
"We entered the residence looking for drugs and Baker on the escape charge, which was a community corrections warrant," Hargett said.
He said an SRT member found the remains of the meth lab under the residence.
Officials with the Franklin County Sheriff's Department were called to the scene to assist.
The Drug Enforcement Agency out of Birmingham provided a HAZMAT team to dispose of the lab.
Baker is currently being held without bond.
