A kitchen limerick

"There once was a busy young cook
Who made recipes out of a book
She worked hard each day
Without any pay
This wonderful, busy young cook
She wanted her family to please
Brought favorites, steak, ice cream, and cheese,
But they all complained
Left home on a plane
And left cook who wanted to please
She vowed to cook them a cake
To try to correct her mistake
She invited them home
And pled, "Please don't roam
I promise I'll bake you a cake"
She warmed up the oven real hot
Gathering ingredients to put in the pot
"Oh no, I have no cake mix,
Now my cake I can't fix"
The cook cried,"And my oven is hot"
She cranked up the car and very fast
Every car on the road quickly passed
Got home with the mix
Her mistake she fixed
The family thanked her for the task
Let this be a lesson to us
When our families kick up a fuss
Be prepared for their voices
Don't give them those choices
Let that be a lesson to us

We need to be thankful for those who try so hard to please us. Preparing meals for several people who all have different tastes is difficult.
With grocery prices like they are now, we must conserve and be thankful for whatever cooks put out on our family table.
Sometimes there is a reason for not being able to eat certain foods, but sometimes we are just picky eaters.
If there are those who do not like the meal, offer them some cold cuts or peanut butter butter sandwiches and those who are on the recieving end, don't forget to kiss the cook.
This week I have included comfort foods that are sure to please even the pickiest of eaters. Comfort foods are those foods you want to come home to when you've had a bad day or just need a break.
Anytime is the right time for comfort foods, regardless of season.
I hope all the picky eaters will try at least one of these comfort foods.
