RHS volleyball tops Florence

The Russellville volleyball team went 1-2 in three matches Monday, moving its record to 16-8 this season.
The Lady Golden Tigers lost to Deshler – ranked sixth in Class 4A – 24-26, 20-25 before knocking off Florence 25-23, 25-14. Russellville then lost to the fourth-ranked team in 4A, Lawrence County, 11-25, 25-18, 12-15.
During the three matches Ariel Howard recorded 25 saves, 14 kills, 14 digs, three aces and one block to lead Russellville while Cassie Montgomery had 18 digs, 13 assists, seven kills, six blocks and three aces.
Erin Reynolds has 20 blocks, 16 kills and seven digs while Taylor Smith recorded 25 assists, 10 digs, six aces, four kills, two blocks and two saves for the Lady Golden Tigers.
Tasha West had 10 kills, four digs, three aces and one block, Lauren Sorrells had 12 digs and one kill while Halie Harvey had 10 digs and three aces.
Hollie Hillman had three blocks, two digs and one kill, Ayanna McCullough had four kills and a dig and Sam Lawson had 12 digs.
The team will play at Muscle Shoals Thursday.
