One week ago the Russellville football team was ranked No. 1 and hosted the seventh-ranked Hartselle Tigers.
This week Russellville is ranked No. 6 and traveling to Mobile to face St. Paul's, the defending Class 5A state champions.
Golden Tiger coach Doug Goodwin said the team has responded well after the loss to Hartselle.
"They've bounced back pretty well," Goodwin said. "But the biggest part of bouncing back is seeing how they perform (tonight)."
It will be a tough test as the Saints (2-2, 2-1) feature A.J. McCarron, the sixth best quarterback prospect in the country according to Rivals.com and a verbal commitment to the University of Alabama.
While there is some concern about the quarterback, Goodwin said the rest of the team could be challenge as well.
"They play hard," Goodwin said. "They are not as talented as last year, but they play hard and do things right."
Although the Golden Tigers will be making one of their longest road trips in years – they left for Mobile after school ended Thursday – they did not have to alter their practice schedule to accommodate travel plans.
Goodwin said the team always practices Thursday mornings, so they did not miss any practice time this week.
