Local nursing homes keep high standards

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) recently released its quality care ratings, and three Franklin County nursing homes and rehabilitation centers have earned stellar marks.
Twenty-three long-term care facilities in northwest Alabama and southern Tennessee were rated by CMS, which surveys nearly 16,000 nursing homes in the U.S. on a quarterly voluntary basis.
The ratings are based on three primary categories – health inspections, staffing and quality measures.
According to CMS, the Five-Star Quality Rating System was created to help consumers, their families and caregivers compare nursing homes more easily and help identify areas to gather more information.
Congratulations to Russellville Health Care, Terrace Manor Nursing &Rehabilitation Center for being rated perfect five-star facilities and Burns Nursing Home for earning a four-star score.
Burns, Terrace Manor and Russellville Health Care have a combined 157 residents that receive round-the-clock attention from their staffs, who should be commended for their excellent and devoted care of our elderly community.
Thanks for your hard work.
