The person believed to be responsible for the August burglary of Russellville Pharmacy is in police custody in Tennessee after being shot by deputies there.
Police Chief Chris Hargett said Ivan Lee Johnson, 48, of Tennessee has been arrested.
"We gained leads in the investigation that made us believe Mr. Johnson is responsible for the Russellville Pharmacy in August," Hargett said.
Hargett said U.S. Marshals and the Sequatchie County Sheriff's Department set up surveillance in order to arrest Johnson on Russellville Police Department warrants.
"It is our understanding that they blocked him in and tried to arrest him when county deputies shot him several times in order to take him into custody," Hargett said.
Hargett said Johnson was treated at a Tennessee hospital and released into police custody in Tennessee. The Russellville Police Department has placed a hold on him for the charges of third-degree burglary and second-degree theft.
Johnson allegedly broke into the Russellville Pharmacy on Aug. 8 and took several medications.
