Monday Update: Storms rip across county

By Staff

A storm system moved across Franklin County late Sunday night causing power outages and damage to several areas.
Franklin County Emergency Management Agency Director Roy Gober said that most of the damage occurred in the Phil Campbell and East Franklin areas.
As of 10:15 a.m. Monday, about 10 percent of county residents in those areas of the county were still without power, Gober said.
No tornadoes were reported, but it is believed that straight-line winds caused most of the damage.
