Lions host North Greenville in final non-conference game

By Staff
The University of North Alabama is the only member of the Gulf South Conference without a loss in conference play and will stay that way for at least another week.
The Lions play their final non-conference game Thursday night as they host North Greenville (1-5).
UNA has been pretty good against non-conference opponents since the 2000 season. The Lions last regular season loss to a non-GSC member was a 28-21 loss to Pittsburg State in 2000.
The Lions (6-0, 4-0) are the only team in GSC with an unbeaten record overall and are ranked third in the latest poll. They are also ranked first in the Super Region 2 poll, which determines what teams will make the Division II playoffs.
The Lions can hold onto that ranking with a victory against North Greenville.
North Greenville is allowing 400 yards total offense and 25.2 points per game through its first six games of the season. The offense is gaining less than 200 yards and putting 10.2 points on the board.
UNA is rolling up more than 420 yards per contest and scoring an average of 41.7 points while allowing only 12.2 points and 295.2 yards.
UNA quarterback Harrison Beck has completed 134-of-226 pass attempts for 1,867 yards and 14 touchdowns. He has thrown only four interceptions.
