PC seeks first win in Region 8

PHIL CAMPBELL – Phil Campbell had a good chance of ending its 17-game losing streak in region play last Friday, but several turnovers in the second half allowed Red Bay to pull away for the win.
This week the Bobcats (1-5, 0-4) return home to face Cherokee (1-5, 1-3) as they try to pick up their first region win since the 2006 season.
If the Bobcats win, they will keep their slim playoff hopes alive, although they will need quite a bit of help down the stretch.
Phil Campbell can earn the fourth playoff spot out right if they defeat Cherokee, Hatton and Westminster Christian Academy while Clements and Hatton lose their remaining region games, WCA defeats Clements but loses to Lexington and Phil Campbell and Cherokee loses to Phil Campbell and Tanner but beats Clements.
Phil Campbell's remaining region schedule features opponents that have a combined record of 5-13.
There are other scenarios where Phil Campbell would be in contention for a playoff spot, but it involves tiebreakers. If Clements wins one of its remaining games against WCA, Red Bay or Cherokee, the Bobcats' playoff chances would come to an end.
The Bobcats will have to cut back on turnovers – they had eight against Red Bay last week – to run the table.
Cherokee is averaging 10.7 points per game and allowing 29.5 points.
Phil Campbell is averaging 17.3 points per game and allowing 34.8 points.
The game begins at 7 p.m.
