Ira Mae Lewis, 84, of Spruce Pine, passed away Monday, March 15, 2010, at Helen Keller Hospital.
Mrs. Lewis was a native of Franklin County and a member of Quinn Memorial Church of Christ.
The funeral service will be Thursday, March 18, 2010, at 11 a.m. at Pinkard Funeral Home Chapel with Lonnie Oldag officiating. Entombment will be at Franklin Memory Mausoleum. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 17, 2010, from 6 to 8 p.m., and Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m., at Pinkard Funeral Home in Russellville.
She is survived by husband, Howard Lewis, Jr.; children, Linda Davis and husband, Dennis; Debby Gaston and husband, Sam; Howard Lewis III and wife, Myra; daughter-in-law, Dianna Turner; grandchildren, Robyn O'Connell, Carol Harwood, Amanda Turner, Clint Davis, Brent Davis, Joby Davis, Heather Willis, Ashley Barnes, Bethany Sheffield and Hayden Gaston; great-grandchildren, Matthew O'Connell, Sean O'Connell, Andrew Harwood, Alex Harwood, Jacob Harwood, Kit Turner, Katie Marie Davis, Abigail Davis, Caleb Davis, Zach Willis, Annie Willis and Ellie Willis.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Pearl Stancil Grissom; son, Kit Turner; great-granddaughter, Jolene Turner.

Gerold Lynn Smith, 44, of Russellville, passed away Saturday, March 13, 2010, at Russellville Hospital.
Funeral services were Tuesday, March 16, 2010, at Grace Baptist Church, Russellville, with Bro. Jim Lumpkin officiating. Interment was in Blue Springs Cemetery.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Serina Smith Sharpston and Casey Shelton; stepfather, Wesley Caldwell; grandparents, Viola and Atwell Smith and Seal and Annie Lee Ergle.
He is survived by his wife, Tammy Sawyer Smith; son, Corey Lynn Sawyer and his wife, Alisia; grandchildren, Seth Sawyer, Kaleb Sawyer, Hailey Sawyer, Ethan Sawyer; brothers, Adam Smith, Ricky Smith and Damon Smith; sisters, Sonia Smith Lucas, Melissa Smith Springer and Pamela Smith Londen; step-sisters, Tracy Shelton, Lelie Ergle, Rhonda Smith, Beverly Smith and Tammy Smith; parents, Ed Smith and Fayrene Ergle; and several nieces and nephews.
The pallbearers were Adam Smith, Blake Smith, Jessie McKinney, Zach Sharpston, Justin Brannon and Jessie Sibley.

Paulette N. Craig, 59, of Littleville, passed away Saturday, March 13, 2010, at Helen Keller Hospital.
She was native of Franklin County and member of the Baptist Church.
Funeral services were Tuesday, March 16, 2010, at 11 a.m. at Pinkard Funeral Home in Russellville with Bro. Jim Lumpkin officiating. Burial was in Franklin Memory Gardens.
Survivors include husband, Reynolds Craig, of Littleville; daughter, Cindy South and husband, John, of Russellville; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Eveline and Reynolds Craig, Sr., of Tuscumbia; sisters, Dorothy Malone and Judy Hines, both of Russellville; brother Charles Murray, of Russellville; grandchildren, Isaac South and Mercedes South; several nieces and nephews whom she loved.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Lucille Britnell Murray.

Marcia Ann Williams Kelley, 53, of Moore, Ok., formerly of Haleyville, died March 6, 2010. She was born to Dr. Doyle and Ethel Williams.
Memorial services were held Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at First United Methodist Church of Haleyville with burial in the Union Grove Cemetery.

Nora Hill

Nora Dell Hill of Bear Creek died March 10, 2010. She was born February 6, 1924.
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 13, 2010 at Pinkard Funeral Home in Haleyville with Doyle Thomas, Richard Crumpton, and George Jones officiating. Burial was in the Union Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers for the service included David Sullivan, Kenneth Gravitt, Phillip Slone, Roger Slone, Hugh Cooper, Chris Gillum, Don Vickery, and Chris Fretwell.
She was preced in death by her parent, George and Pearl Newman Scogin; step father, Louis Bishop; brothers, Clyde Scogin, Woodrow Scogin, Clarence Scogin, Corbet Scogin; sister, Ila Belle Scogin Bishop, brother-in-law, Elton Cleon Hill; husband, Berkley Hershel Hill; daughter, Linda Sue Hill Moody, and son-in-law, Wayne Moody.
Survivors include granddaughter, Lisa Jo Moody of Bear Creek; brother, George (Bonnie) Scogin of Moody; sisters-in-law, Yvonne (Bob) Hill of Vernon and Ola Scogin of leeds; several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Hill was a life long resident of the area and was a member of Bear Creek No. One Baptist Church, where she served as the pianist and Sunday school teacher for many years. Her husband, Berkley Hill, was known in the area for his gospel singing and working with local insurance business. The couple also ran Hill Funeral Home in Haleyville with brother Elton Hill from 1945 to 1960. She spent much of her life being a homemaker, and caregiver for her handicap daughter, Linda, although she did serve in other jobs outside the home, such as a hairdresser, security guard, and floral arranger.
Mrs. Hill wrote and published many gospel songs over the years, even co-writing with Lonnie Williams and Burton Clement. She had one of her songs "I've Been Walkin" recorded by the Southern gospel group Cathedral Quartet. She also wrote the Alma Mater for the Northwest Shoals Community College. She live a life of unselfish, loving and compassion towards others. She was deeply loved by those that had the honor of knowing her. She will be deeply missed.

Bill Pugh, 69, of Russellville, passed away Tuesday, March 16, 2010.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, March 18, 2010, at Pinkard Funeral Home in Russellville.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, March 19, 2010, at Calvary Baptist Church in Russellville.
Burial will be in Red Bay City Cemetery.
