Virgie Courington Dupree, 88, of Natural Bridge, passed away Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at her residence. She was the oldest surviving member of Concord Baptist Church, a life-long Republican, served on the Natural Bridge town council, selected as the first woman to ever serve on a Grand Jury in Alabama, an avid gardener, the first librarian at Lynn and a member of Eastern Star.

Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, April 17, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Concord Baptist Church with Richard Crumpton and Bobby Aderholt officiating.

Burial will follow in the adjoining church cemetery.

She is preceded in death by her parents Mr. and Mrs. Ree Watts; husbands, Jim Courington and Otis Dupree; sister, Laudell Hemphill

Mrs. Dupree is survived by her children Jimmy Courington and Anna Vickery; sister, Marie Litton; grandchildren, Renee, Donna and David; great-grandchildren, Hannah and Ben Wendlandt, Anna and Alex Beaver, Olivia Grace Courington
