Maxine  Smith Turner, 76, of Russellville, died Monday, May 17, 2010 at Helen Keller Hospital. Visitation will be held Friday, May 21, 2010 at Akins Funeral Home in Russellville from 6 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 22, 2010 at the funeral home with Dr. Todd Evans and Bro. Randy Burbank officiating. Burial will be in the  Winston Memorial Cemetery in Haleyville.
Pallbearers for the service will include Will Baker, Jessie Baker, Jerry Hall, W.C. Cochran, Wendall Gann and Gary Mason Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be Jake Turner, Eli Turner, Matt  Cooper and Cameron Armstrong.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie Vince Smith and Nora Smith; sisters, Jesse Lee Smith, Allene Shyver and Geraldine Sims; and brother, J.V. Smith, Jr.
Ms. Turner is survived by husband, Curtis O. Turner; children, LaJuan Alfonso and husband, Refeal, Phillip Turner and wife, Julie, Keith Turner and wife, Deona, Alicia Hewes and husband, William, and Chris Turner and wife, Terri; grandchildren, Cristina and Laura Alfonso, Jake and Eli Turner, Marina and Delaney Turner, Matt Cooper, Katelyn and Madison Hewes, Carlee and Cameron Armstrong, a host of nieces and nephews.
The family expresses their thanks to the staff of Helen Keller Hospital, Debbie at Thorn’s Florist and Akins Funeral Home for all the kindness shown to our family.
