Schools readjust calendars due to snow days

At both the Russellville City and Franklin County school board meetings Thursday, board members voted to approve make-up days for the five school days students missed due to the significant snowfall during the week of January 10-14.

For Russellville City schools the following days will now be student days:

• Monday, Feb. 21 (President’s Day)

• Thursday, March 10 (spring break)

• Friday, March 11 (spring break)

• Thursday, May 26 (former teacher in-service)

• Friday, May 27 (former teacher in-service)

The Martin Luther King holiday on Jan. 17 was an optional teacher in-service day. Those teachers who did not come for in-service on that day will have to make it up one day in June.

For Franklin County schools the following days will now be student days:

• Monday, Feb. 21 (President’s Day)

• Wednesday, March 16 (spring break)

• Thursday, March 17 (spring break)

• Friday, March 18 (spring break)

• Friday, May 27 (teacher work day)

Teachers will have work days on Saturday, Feb. 26, and Saturday, May 28.
