Leo Phay Humphres, 78, died Tuesday, April 10, 2012, at his residence.

He was a school bus driver for Vina School for 26 years. He was a member and deacon of Hurricane Creek Missionary Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Services were Thursday, April 12, 2012, at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. J.C. Hand officiating. Burial was in Ebenezer Cemetery.

Survivors are one son, David Humphres and wife, Pam, of Vina; two grandsons, Justin Humphres and wife, Chelsea, and Jordan Humphres, both of Vina; three sisters, Lily Bell Blackburn, of Illinois, Arlene Fradenburg, Red Bay, and Jean Messer, Tupelo, Miss.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Ann Knight Humphres, his parents, Rev. Dewey Humphres and Lydia Holland Humphres, one brother, Virdo Humphres and one sister, Irma Ree Humphres.

Pallbearers were Jeff Palmer, Sam Wilson, J.T. Miller, B.D. Stacy, Jackie Humphres, Byron Jordan and Bobby Humphres.
