Michael Lee Sexton

Michael Lee Sexton, 31, Bear Creek, having fought a courageous battle with cancer, passed away Friday, April 13, 2012, at his residence.

Funeral services were Sunday, April 15, 2012, at Spry Memorial Chapel.  Officiating at the service was Bro. Michael Farris. Burial was in Knights of Pythias Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Amy Anglin Sexton; children, Alyssa Shackleford (Sexton), Timothy Sexton, Jessica Jane Sexton, Michael Lee Sexton, Jr., Malachi Sexton, Masyn Saban Sexton, Alexia Wilson; mother and step-father, Cynthia and Tim Newell; and a host of friends and neighbors.

His pallbearers were Rick Taylor, Dave Curry, Andy Atkins, Kevin Rickard, Ed Smith, Bradley Rogers and Lance Vandervort.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to everyone who offered and gave their help, support and prayers throughout Michael’s illness. A special thanks also to all of our brothers and sisters in Christ, Nurse Trinity with Southern Care Hospice and Dr. Harrison for the care shown towards our family.
