John Lewis Rea, 82, Phil Campbell, passed away Saturday, Aug. 11, 2012, at Helen Keller Hospital.

Funeral services were Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2012, at Spry Memorial Chapel with Bro. James Mann officiating.  Burial was in Spruce Pine Cemetery.

He is survived by his children, John Keith Rea and fiancé, Norma, Walter Daniel Rea, Robert “Robbie” Lewis Rea and wife, Lisa, James Elkins, Maeshell Bray, Mellissia Maroquinn and husband, Ever; grandchildren, Megan Danielle Rea, Olyvia Grace Rea, Sophie Caroline Rea, Hope Lashay Bray, Zena Alfaro, Anthony Maroquinn, Issiac Maroquinn, Elizebeth Vandenbrink, Robert Lewis, Sr., Andrew Rea, Emily Grace Michelle Elkins, William Elkins; great-grandchildren, Mallorie Vandenbrink, Annabelle Vandenbrink; former daughter-in-laws, Stacey Fisher and Kathy McCurry; two nephews, James Mann and William Mann; and many other friends and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, father, Whit Lewis Rea, and mother, Carrie Lou Rea; daughter, Amanda Jane Rea; son, Shane Marshall Rea.

The pallbearers were James Elkins, D.J. Riddle, Brian Isom, Heath Fredrick, Marty Fisher and Ever Maroquinn.  The honorary pallbearers were Charles Sherrwood and Thomas Hallman.
