Red Bay Hospital hosting health fair on Oct. 4

RED BAY – In the interest of the health and wellness of community residents, Red Bay Hospital will be hosting a Health Fair that will feature free services, health information and plenty of other activities on interest.
The fair will take place Thursday, Oct. 4, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Red Bay Hospital, which is located on Hospital Road in Red Bay.
Free services that will be offered during the fair include taking blood pressure, blood glucose tests, oxygen saturation tests and providing arthritic exercise information.
Also, the first fifty people to attend the fair will receive a free flu vaccine.
The local Air Evac Lifeteam will be on hand to greet patrons as well as the hospitals pharmacist, Wally Hellums, who will be on hand to answer any medications questions patrons may have.
For those who are interested in achieving and maintaining a healthy lifestyle, tours will be available for the hospital’s Wellness Center, where participants can learn their body mass index (BMI) and learn about the Zumba and cardio fitness classes that are offered.
Tours of the newly remodeled Swing Bed Unit will be available so community residents can see the changes that have been made to make the unit a “home away from home.”
And those who get hungry during the fair will be treated to “heart healthy” chicken stew, provided by the Red Bay Hospital Dietary Services.
Door prizes and other giveaways will also be given so everyone in the community is encouraged to attend this event.
