Annie K. “Katie” McQuary, 69, Hackleburg, passed away Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013, at her residence surrounded by her family.

Funeral services were Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, at Hackleburg First Baptist Church, with Bro. Todd Burkhalter, Bro. Larry Hill, Bro. Mickey Crane officiating. Interment was in Cedar Tree Cemetery, Hackleburg.

Pallbearers were Stevie Vanzele, David Jennings, John Hubbard, Larry Camp, John Clark and Doug Swann.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Flora Burkhalter; sisters, Jerry Gray, Bobbie Bircheat; brother, Billy Joe Burkhalter.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Willie R. “Bill” McQuary; son, Michael R. McQuary and wife, Tina, of Phil Campbell; sisters, Nona Faye Carr and husband, Billy, of Carrollton, Mary Wilson and husband, Johnnie, of Russellville; brothers, Ganus Burkhalter and wife, Patsy, of Reform, Truman Burkhalter and wife, Bonnie, of Carrollton; step grandchildren, Whitney and Brittney Dotson; a host of nieces and nephews.

She was a member of Hackleburg First Baptist Church. She retired from Hackleburg School after 25 years of service as the lunchroom manager.

Special thanks to the nurses and staff of Southern Care Hospice; our church family and friends for their prayers, food and support.
