Changes in leadership announced at Alabama Power

Melinda Weaver, a 22-year employee at the Haleyville branch office of Alabama Power Company, was recently promoted to business office manager.

She will be replacing Frank Tidwell, the current business office manager, who is retiring.

“I’m excited and grateful to have the opportunity to serve as manager for our Franklin, East Marion and Winston County customers of Alabama Power Company,” Weaver said.

“Serving in this role, I’m committed to promoting our area and providing safe and reliable electric service to our customers.”

During her tenure at Alabama Power, Weaver has worked as a customer service representative.

Tidwell, who has served as business office manager of the Haleyville branch for the past six years, is looking forward to his retirement.

“I’m excited that my new chapter in life will begin after 40 years of service at Alabama Power Company. I will miss seeing and visiting with our customers and my fellow employees,” Tidwell said.

“Now I will have more time to spend with my family, especially my three grandchildren. I plan to catch up on some fishing, travel and enjoy my gardening.”

The transition should be complete within a few weeks.
