William Howard Newell, 47, Russellville, passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2013, at his residence.

Funeral services were Thursday, March 7, 2013, at Spry Memorial Chapel. Officiating at the service was Bro. Bobby Stancil. Burial was in Tharptown Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Sherry Cooper Newell; children, Ashley Newell, Brent Newell; step-children, Geoff Cooper, Shelly Cooper, Millie Cooper; very special child, Uriah Thompson; grandchildren, Katie Cooper, Jake Cooper, Kevontae Garrett, Keegan Cooper; father, Buford Newell; mother, Mary Black Berryman and husband, Phillip; siblings, Durant Newell, Kimberly Newell, Kristin Taylor; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents; sister, Donita Newell; and step-mother, Debbie Newell.

The pallbearers were Wayne Tatum, Bobby “BJ” Frye, Trent Neeley, Tyler Neeley, Andrew Parker, Luke Mosteller, Buddy Baker, and Eric Baker.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Transcare Ambulance Service, Franklin County Investigators, Franklin County Sherriff’s office, and to Coroner Elzie Malone.
