Russellville Hospital acquires diagnostics imaging center

Russellville Hospital announced Tuesday the acquisition of Russellville Diagnostic Center (RDC).

Beginning immediately, Russellville Diagnostic Center will operate as a department of Russellville Hospital, a move that will allow the hospital to provide enhanced medical services throughout northwest Alabama, officials said.

“We are excited to become part of Russellville Hospital,” said Vikki Simpson, Clinical Director of Russellville Diagnostic Center.

“By acquiring our operations and resources, Russellville Hospital will further enhance diagnostic imaging services across our communities and better meet the needs of our patients and physicians throughout this region. As part of the hospital, we also will be able to establish consistent processes and sharing of healthcare information, which ultimately means better care for patients. That is our goal.”

Russellville Hospital’s acquisition of RDC offers significant benefits to patients and doctors, the company said in a release.

It expands the hospital’s imaging services and offers two convenient locations that will make

imaging services more accessible and convenient for patients. The acquisition also will help

improve scheduling flexibility and give patients increased access to imaging services.

“In today’s evolving healthcare environment, providers are constantly identifying ways that they can improve care and better serve their patients,” said Christine Stewart, CEO of Russellville Hospital.

“Russellville Hospital is committed to providing high quality healthcare in northwest

Alabama. By adding RDC’s resources to our hospital’s diagnostic imaging department, we will be able to provide even better care to all of our patients.”

RDC is now known as Russellville Hospital Diagnostic Center. The center’s transition to

Russellville Hospital will be seamless. Both locations will continue to offer the same services for which they are known with the same professional, courteous staff with Lauderdale

Radiology providing professional interpretation services.
