Marlin Royce Taylor, 88, Phil Campbell, passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at his residence surrounded by his family.
Funeral services were Friday, May 17, 2013, at Liberty Hill Baptist Church, Phil Campbell with Bro. Bobby Poss, Bro. Joe Holmes, and Bro. Jerry Pounders officiating. Interment was in the adjoining cemetery. Pallbearers were Jim Strickland, Christopher Hoehn, Michael Hoehn, Kody Andrews, David Welborn, Billy Pierce, and Buice Swinney.
He was preceded in death by his son, Gregory Alan Taylor; parents, Jourden and Emma Taylor; sister, Peggy Williams; brother, Melburn Taylor; brothers-in-law, Tom Williams and Ted Mitchell.
He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Martella Taylor; children, Rose Knickman and husband, Ed, Rebecca Hoehn and husband, Frank, and Dana Welling; sisters, Victory Mitchell, Berneice Hollander and husband, Roy; brother, Velson Taylor and wife, Laura; grandchildren, Jamie Shaw, Christopher Hoehn and wife, Mary Fran, Michael Hoehn, Marla Welling, Jessica Taylor, Jennifer Hanson and husband, Josh; great grandchildren, Brinley Hanson, Rachel Elizabeth Hoehn; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was a faithful member and deacon of Liberty Hill Baptist Church. He was a trusted auto mechanic, who worked many years for Tinsley Motor Company. After retiring, his customers still brought their cars to him as he always repaired them, charging a fair price. “Let Marlin’s Magic Keep You Mobile” was his slogan.
