Commissioners hear residents’ concerns

County commissioners Rayburn Massey and Wyman Pounders met with a group of concerned citizens in the southeast corner of District 3 on County Road 57 this week.

Residents in that area had expressed concern about the lack of services in their community. The commissioners discussed why roads are in the current shape they are in and how there is no money to fix them at the time.

Other topics of concern for the community are the lack of fire hydrants, party line phone service, no hope of broadband services any time soon, one lane bridges, and others.

The meeting was at the home of Byron and Tina Davis.

The community members were grateful for the commissioners taking the time to come and talk with them.

“We are all in this together and it helps to know the local government is aware of your struggles,” said Peggy Baker, who attended the meeting.
