RHS volleyball finishes second in weekend tournament

The Russellville girls’ volleyball team took second place at the Breast Cancer Awareness Tournament at Florence High School over the weekend.

RHS defeated Mars Hill 17-25, 25-23, 15-12. Lexi Lamon had three aces and 12 assists. Ashley Dunstan had 14 kills while Megan Brockway had 14 digs. Emaree Willis had eight assists and five digs. Mercedes Darby had three kills; Angela Woods had four kills and two blocks; Peyton Hester had a kill and four digs, and Tristin Thomas had seven digs.

The Lady Golden Tigers defeated Athens, 25-17, 25-22.

Peyton Hester had two aces and six kills. Ashley Dunstan had 10 kills, along with Lexi Lamon’s 14 assists.

RHS beat Florence 25-17, 20-25, 15-12. Mercedes Darby had 10 digs and Lexi Lamon had 14 assists. Ashley Dunstan had 15 kills and six blocks along with Peyton Hester’s 13 digs and Angela Woods’ three kills and two blocks. RHS showed out against Elkmont winning 25-17, 25-20. Brockway helped them win with two aces and 10 digs. Lamon had five aces and six assists. Dunstan had five aces and six assists. Emaree Willis had seven assists and four digs.

Russellville defeated Colbert Heights 25-12, 25-12. Brockway had two aces and 10 digs. Darby had five kills and six digs; Lamon had 13 assists and eights digs; Dunstan had seven kills and 6 blocks; Willis had four assists and six digs; Woods had five kills and two blocks, along with Thomas’ three digs.

Russellville got the win over Central, 20-25, 23-25, when Lamon had two aces and seven assists; Brockway had 15 digs; Darby had five kills and five digs; Dunstan had five kills and 11 blocks; Hester had one ace and two kills; Willis had one ace, two kills, and seven assists; and Woods’ had two kills and three blocks.
