Brothers indicted in theft case

Two Colbert County brothers who were arrested in July after law enforcement officials say they broke into a residence while the homeowner was there asleep were indicted recently, officials said.

Jon Adam Fisher, 25, and Christopher Arlin Fisher, 36, both of 701 Cave St. in Tuscumbia, were indicted for second-degree theft of property and second-degree burglary, Franklin County District Attorney Joey Rushing said.

According to Franklin County Sheriff Shannon Oliver, sheriff’s deputies received a call about a home invasion at a residence on Franklin 162 off Duncan Creek Road in Russellville on July 16.

Oliver said the homeowner stated he was in bed asleep when he heard a noise that woke him up.

When he went to his bedroom door, Oliver said the homeowner confronted the two suspects who fled from the scene.

After getting a description of the vehicle, Oliver said the sheriff’s office put out a BOLO and the brothers were picked up by the Colbert County Sheriff’s Office on Lime Rock Road in Tuscumbia.

Oliver said the brothers were arrested on burglary and theft charges after the homeowner reported a laptop and prescription medication missing.

Rushing said the two cases would be placed on the April criminal trial docket.
