The Russellville Lady Golden Tigers claimed a decisive victory over the Phillips Lady Bears on Friday night at the Russellville Middle School Gym.

The varsity girl’s team started with a 12-7 lead at the end of the first quarter. They added to their lead throughout the game, finishing with a thirty-point lead to win with a final score of 56-26.

“I am very proud of this team,” head coach James Bostick said.

“We started out this game playing a strong defense. In the second half we increased the intensity of our offense, playing a good offensive game.

“This was a strong team effort with ten different players scoring at different times during the game.”

Ashley Dunstan led the Lady Tigers with eight field goals and four foul shots for a total of 20 points. She was joined in double figures by Abby Holcomb who had four three pointers and one field goal for 14 points.

Megan Brockway added seven points for the Lady Tigers. Emory Willis scored three points and Teresa Tompkins, Angela Woods, Alisha Phillips, Peyton Hester, Victoria Jackson and Jakari Suggs each had two points to round out the scoring for the Tigers.
