Red Bay senior girls honored after 57-31 victory

Last Friday, four Red Bay Lady Tigers and their parents were honored following Red Bay’s 57-31 win over Belgreen during the annual senior recognition night.

Jade Faulkner, Kasey Sparks, Carlee Berry and Elizabeth Wooten played their last home game of the regular season last Friday, but will travel to Hatton on Monday for the final game.

In the Friday night game against Belgreen, Red Bay (25-2) led 23-2 at the end of the first quarter, and held on to a 37-6 lead at halftime.

Belgreen outscored Red Bay 16-10 in the third, but trailed 12-9 in the fourth quarter scoring.

Allie Kennedy led Red Bay with 11 points, Holly Hardin scored nine and Hope Cook and Elizabeth Wooten scored seven each.

Darby Madden made six, Danielle Hastings and Kasey Sparks scored five, Morgan Pierce and Brooklyn Bolton made four, and Hannah McKinney added one point.

Lexie Bragwell led the Lady Bulldogs with 10 points, Allyson Bragwell scored nine, Laken Bragwell added four, Brooke Williams added a three-pointer in the fourth, Nicole Borden and Brianna Wood added two each, and Hannah Taylor scored one.

The Lady Tigers’ post season starts up as Red Bay hosts the AHSAA 2A Area 16 Tournament as the #1 seed.

Red Bay will face Cherokee on Thursday, Feb. 6 t 6 p.m. in the semi-finals. Colbert Heights will play Phil Campbell Thursday at 7:30.

The remaining two teams will play for the tournament title on Saturday, Feb. 8 at 7 p.m.
