Bobby “B.R.” Sampson, age 77, of Bear Creek, passed away Friday, Feb. 28, 2014, at Russellville Hospital. He was a Baptist, served in the United States Army, President of Shelter Products, co-founder of the Alabama Suppliers Association, President of and Chief Cook of Redtop Hunting Club and co-founder of Bear Creek Toys for Tots “Operation Caring”.

Visitation was Sunday Mar. 2, 2014, at Pinkard Funeral Home, Haleyville. The funeral service followed, with Frank Chaney, Sammy Taylor and Carl James officiating. Burial was at Bear Creek Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Wayne Emerson, Mark Baker, Van Tidwell, Richie Sampson, Joey “KJ” Millay and Jeremy Campbell; honorary pallbearers were Wesley Williams, Asher Campbell, Rylie Sampson and Justin Pinkard.

He is survived by his wife, Glenda Dale Green Sampson; sons, Stephen Sampson and wife, Lekita, and Mark Sampson and wife, Wynndy; brothers, Mike Sampson and David Sampson; sisters, Kay Saling and Sue Stanley; grandchildren, Stephanie Sampson Hyde, Amy Campbell and husband, Jeremy, Mark Sampson, Jr., and Kylie Sampson; great grandchildren, Wesley Williams, Lily Hyde, Rylie Sampson, Emma Campbell and Asher Campbell.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George Rollie and Gladys Mae Sampson; and grandson, Jonathan Sampson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shriners Hospital.
