Man arrested for firearms theft

A Russellville man was arrested Friday for stealing firearms from the person whose home he had been staying in, law enforcement said.
Brandon Kelly Aycock, 30, 735 Vincent Ave., Russellville, was arrested for first-degree theft of property, Russellville Police Chief Chris Hargett said.
According to Hargett, the victim in the case filed a report on July 25 stating he had several firearms as well as ammunition and accessories that had been stolen from his home while he was out of town on business.
During the course of the investigation, Hargett said it was discovered that Aycock had been staying at the victim’s residence, with permission, while the victim was out of town.
When questioned about the stolen items, Hargett said it was determined that Aycock allegedly traded the firearms in exchange for drugs.
After this was determined, Aycock was arrested for the theft charge on Friday.
Aycock is in custody at the Franklin County Jail on a $5,000 bond.
Hargett said many of the firearms have not been recovered. Anyone with any information about these firearms is asked to call the RPD at 256-332-2230.
