The Sharks 10U Tiffin fast-pitch softball team recently made their first trip to play in the World Series at Orange Beach.

Four girls from Red Bay and an additional five from the area placed 9th in the USSSA Fast-pitch World Series.

The Sharks beat teams like the Mobile Thrillers 04 from Alabama, Sharks-Hunter, LC Pride from Tennessee, the Toxic 03, and Mississippi’s Pink Sox, on their way to their top 10 finish.

The Sharks won their first five games including a perfect 3-0 in pool play before falling to The Hit Squad 10U out of Tallassee, which placed 2nd in the World Series.

Led by Chloe Knoblock, with Tori Tiffin, Ashton Nichols, and Lila Blackburn in relief, the Sharks pitched three shut-outs in pool and bracket play.

There were 29 teams from six different states that competed in the USSSA World Series.

Team members include Kirsten Scott, Lila Blackburn, Chloe Knoblock and Tori Tiffin from Red Bay; Makenize Scott, Caymen Quinn and Caitlin Mills from Phil Campbell; Maddy Green and Jodie Morrow from Russellville; and Ashton Nichols is from Florence.
