David Jackson Herston

David Jackson Herston, 89, of Hackleburg, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2014, at his residence.

Mr. Herston was a native of Florence, but had lived in this area for the past 51 years.  He was retired from U.S. Reduction as a welder.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and was a member of the Masons.

The funeral service was Friday, Aug. 15, 2014, at Pinkard Funeral Home Chapel, Russellville with burial in Liberty Hill Cemetery, Phil Campbell.  Officiating was Elvis Cochran.  The family received friends at the funeral home on Friday.

Survivors include, wife, Darlene Lindsey Herston, Hackleburg; daughter, Starla Herston; son, Phillip Herston; sister, Genett Johnson; grandson, Landon “Niko” Herston; granddaughter, Christie Herston; great-granddaughter, Alexis Singh; several nieces and nephews; step-son, Sammy Lindsey and wife, Christie; step-daughters, Joe McCarley and husband, Royce, and Jan Akers and husband, Wayne; step-grandsons, Keith McCarley, Heath Rayburn, Shawn Lindsey, and Chace Akers and wife, April; step-granddaughter, Kim Akers and husband, Tommy; step-great-grandsons, Tanner Lindsey, Hunter McCarley and Payton Akers; step-great-granddaughters, Hannah Rayburn, Anna Grace Lindsey and Kyla Engle.
