Fresh off a playoff-clinching win last week, the Phil Campbell Bobcats found the road unfriendly at Sulligent and came away with a 42-7 loss to the Blue Devils.

The Blue Devil defense limited the Bobcats to just 26 rushing yards on 26 carries and 94 passing yards.

Sulligent took control of the game in the first half jumping out to a 35-7 lead.

Phil Campbell’s lone score came in the second quarter when Tristan Godsey capped a 64-yard drive with a two-yard touchdown run. Joe Hardy added the point after.

Godsey had 12 carries for 24 yards and four catches for 24 yards. Peyton Thomas completed nine of 21 passes for 90 yards before leaving the game with a rib injury. Noah Williams, coming off an injury, had four catches for 47 yards.

The Bobcats (4-5, 3-3) are off this week. They will host the Hackleburg Panthers on Thursday, Oct. 30 for their final regular season contest. Then the Bobcats will prepare for their first playoff game in nine years, likely traveling across the state to Ranburn.
