James Elvert Potter, 88, of Russellville, passed away Friday, Oct. 31, 2014, at Russellville Hospital.

Mr. Potter was a native of Lawrence County, but had lived most of his life in Franklin County. He was a member and deacon of Cherry HillBaptistChurch and was retired from Ford Motor Company.

The funeral service was Monday, Nov. 3, 2014, at Pinkard Funeral Home Chapel, Russellville, with burial in Cherry HillCemetery. Officiating was Phillip Potter and Jim Johnson. The family received friends at the funeral home on Monday.

Survivors include wife, Marie Potter; son, Preston Potter, Russellville; brother, Edison Potter; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, C.J. and Margaret Potter; son, Richard Potter; sisters, Alice Owens, Mae Lawirmore, Eula Witt, and Helen Hood; brothers, W.T. Potter, C.J. Potter, Jr.,  Hubie  Potter, Herman Potter, Sherman Potter, Claude Potter, Percy Potter and Corbet Potter.
