Doris Bernice McMickin of Brilliant went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2014, at Lakeland Community Hospital in Haleyville.

The visitation will be held Saturday, November 8, 2014 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. with the funeral service following at 1 p.m. at the Philadelphia Deliverance Tabernacle on Highway 13, Lynn. Burial will follow at Liberty Hill Cemetery in Russellville. Pastor John. W. Autry, Joel McMickin, David McMickin, Paul McMickin and James McMickin will officiate.

Mrs. McMickin is preceded in death by her husband, Lee Weston McMickin; her parents Johnie and Nancy Scott; daughter, Margie Rebeca McMickin; granddaughter, Susan Stephens; sister, Vernell Tompkins; brother, Wayne Scott; and son – in – laws, Clyde Carpenter and Ronnie Whitman.

She is survived by her children, Jeanette Smith, Jane Carpenter, Sharon Whitman, Norma McMickin, Joel McMickin and wife, Sally, Paul McMickin and wife, Edna, David McMickin and wife Trula, James McMickin and wife, Jennifer; her sixteen grandchildren; thirty – one great grandchildren; great – great grandson, Carson Alexander Hyde; sisters Shellie Hancock and Bettye Scott; and brothers O’Neal Scott, and wife, Mattie Lou, and Athel Scott, and wife, Hazel; and a host of special nieces, nephews and other relatives and dear friends.
