Willard David Murphy, 93, Russellville, passed away on Friday, Dec. 19, 2014 at Lakeland Community Hospital of Haleyville.

The visitation was Sunday, Dec. 21, 2014 at Spry Memorial Chapel. The funeral was Monday, Dec. 22, 2014 at OakGroveMissionaryBaptistChurch, with the body lying in state one hour prior to the service. Officiating was Bro. Venlon Bradford.  Burial was at KimbroughCemetery, with military honors.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy June Murphy; parents, James Midland and Huldah Murphy; son, Richard Hugh Murphy; grandsons, Jamie Murphy, Brian Richard Murphy, Derek Wayne Murphy; brother, Charles Amos Murphy; and sisters, Bertha and Mary Francis.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his sons, Wayne Murphy, Bryce Murphy and wife, Sue, Jim Murphy and wife, Jan; grandchildren, Daniel, Joe, Lauren, April, Justin, Melissa; great-grandchildren, Haiden, Ty, Maggie; special niece, Jean Stone; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
