Walter Louis Gholston, 67, of Muscle Shoals, passed away Thursday, Jan. 1, 2015, at his residence.

Mr. Gholston was a native of FranklinCounty, but had lived in Muscle Shoals for the past 35 years. He was retired as a forklift operator at Reynolds Aluminum and was of the Jehovah’s Witness faith.

The funeral service was Monday, Jan. 5, 2015, at Pinkard Funeral Home Chapel, Russellville, with burial in WinstonTiggsCemetery. Officiating was B.J. Bonner.  The family received friends at the funeral home on Monday.

Survivors include wife, Sabrina Gholston; mother, Elizabeth Gholston; son, Walter Zachery Gholston; step-sons, Iran Oates and wife, Delilah, C.G. NeSmith and wife, April, and Dr. Jarrell NeSmith and wife, Brittany; brother, Ray Gholston and husband, Carol; sister, Greta Vorum; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, David Gholston; and sons, Julian and Jamal Gholston.
