Ross Glasgow, age 86 Russellville Alabama passed away Tuesday Feb. 10, 2015.

The visitation was Thursday Feb.12 at Akins Funeral Home Hwy 43 Russellville.

The funeral service was held on Friday Feb. 13, 2015 at ll a.m. with Brother Keith Prince and Brother A. H. Akins officiating.  Burial will be at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be nephews and friends:  Mike Akins, Rex Glasgow, Ronnie Sweda, Mike Sweda, Tommy Glasgow and Don Miller.

Honorary Pallbearers: Ray Vickery, Burns Fleming, Dwayne Smith, Jimmy Glasgow, Johnny Mack Glasgow, Robert Glasgow Jr , Mark Akins, Donald Glasgow James Overton, Radford Hester, Johnny Hester, Richie Hester, Burns (Buckshot) Saint, ,Leamon Sumerel and Belgreen High School Class of 47.

He was preceded in death by his wife Juanita Fretwell Glasgow: parents Kemper T. and Lela Glasgow; Siblings Maxine Martin, John Glasgow, Spencer Glasgow, Kemper Glasgow Jr. Mildred Feary and Cecil Glasgow.

He is survived by his children: daughter, Angie Dewberry and husband, Ronnie Dewberry and son, (Ross Jr.) “Sonny” Glasgow

Grandchildren: Dayna Willis and husband, Jody, Dara Dewberry, Shayna Glasgow and Kyle Glasgow. Great Grandchildren: Lauren and Caden Willis.

Siblings: Doris Sweda, Tom Glasgow, Jim Glasgow and Robert Houston Glasgow

He was a very loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather.  He was a veteran of the Korean War, 1947 graduate of Belgreen High School and was a Franklin County Sports Hall of Fame inductee and a Mason.  He was a member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church.

He retired from Reynolds Metals Co after 35 years in 1982.  He was an avid walker at Russellville HS track from 1982 to 2002.  He loved visiting with the coaches and his “walking buddies”.
