W.B. Dees

W.B. Dees, 88, died Friday, Feb. 20, 2015 at the Red Bay Hospital.  He was born in Franklin County, to Will and Leaffer Dees.  He was a heavy equipment operator and a farmer.  He was a member of New Union Missionary Baptist Church since 1950.

Services were Sunday, Feb. 22, at New Union Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Greg Philamlee and Gerald Collum officiating.  Burial was in Halltown Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Magdeline Dees of Red Bay; three children, Jerry Dees and wife, Janie, of Belmont, Barbara Richey and Ricky Dees and wife, Mae, all of Red Bay; four grandchildren, Bradley Waddle, Jennifer Raper, Heath Dees and Audrey Green; eight step grandchildren, Pam Bauris, Jim Gannon, Mike Gannon, Angie Stafford, Katelyn Norman, Danny Scott, Devin Scott and Matthew Scott; five great grandchildren, Landon Blunt, Bryson Dees, Brody Raper, Brilei Dees and Meli Green; one sister, Evelyn Sandlin of Hamilton.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, U.V. Rayburn.

Pallbearers were Jim Gannon, Mike Gannon, Billy Brown, Heath Dees, Roger Lee Nelson and Tim Fowler.  Honorary pallbearers will be Bryson Dees, Landon Blunt and Brody Raper.

Visitation was Saturday, Feb. 21, at New Union Missionary Baptist Church.
