Red Bay begins title defense

The defending 2A state champions Red Bay Lady Tigers started their state title defense on a strong note last week, taking two wins in Mississippi.

The Lady Tigers defeated Fulton, Miss., 38-36. Allie Kennedy and Darby Madden powered Red Bay to the win with 15 points and 14 points, respectively. Others scoring for Red Bay were Katie Burks (4), Hope Cook (2), Morgan Pierce (2) and Brooklyn Bolton (1).

Red Bay also defeated Ponotoc, Miss., 50-41. Madden led the way with 15 points. Pierce and Burks scored 11 points each. Kennedy added eight points, and Holly Hardin contributed five points in the win.
