M. Shakane Burney

M. Shakane Burney, 34, passed away Thursday, Feb. 4, 2016. He was born in Cleveland, O. and was a truck driver. He was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church.

Services were held Monday, Feb. 8, at Poplar Springs Baptist Church, Golden, Miss. with Bro. Jimmy Dale Sartain officiating. Burial was in Shottsville Cemetery, Vina.

Survivors are his wife, Kayla Russell Burney; son, Briar Kane Burney; daughter, Alexis Hale; his mother, Debra Lovejoy; his father, Marty Burney and wife, Tonya; four sisters, Brandy Currin, Mariah, Ashton and Hannah Burney ; one brother, Levi Burney; two nieces, Katrisa Kelton and Kascidy Vinson; one nephew, Gaiten Enlow; his grandmothers, Geneva Jacobs and Lona Mae Letostak; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Grady and Burta Mae Burney and Kenneth Wayne Jacobs and his sister-Keista Abagail Enlow.

Pallbearers were T. J. Allison, Patrick Hensley, Shane Lolley, Chase Burney, David Dykes and Carl Dykes. Honorary pallbearers were Dustin Kelton, Carlton Dykes, Eddie Burns and Patrick Panelle.

Visitation was Sunday, Feb. 7, at Poplar Springs Baptist Church.
