Braly shooting heads to grand jury
Last week marked new developments in the case of a recent shooting death in the City of Russellville.
Craig Braly, 46, was in court in regards to the charge of murder stemming from the shooting of his father, Claude Braly, 65, at a local apartment complex Jan. 16.
“It was bound over to the grand jury,” said district attorney Joey Rushing. The action followed a 45-minute hearing during which Judge Paula McDowell heard all evidence. RPD Sgt. Jake Tompkins was one of those who testified, and he afterward expressed his confidence in the available evidence.
“He made a 9-1-1 call in which he admitted it,” Tompkins said. “There are several reports of him telling people he killed his father.”
The younger Braly is in the Franklin County Jail on a $500,000 bond.
