Although Franklin County’s Relay for Life was previously set to take place at Tiger Stadium at Russellville High School, recent events have necessitated a change in a venue.

Relay for Life 2016 is fast approaching, set for May 6, 6-10 p.m., in downtown Russellville. The set-up, according to coordinator Anna Duncan, will be similar to the annual Watermelon Festival, with booths, activity areas, food trucks and more lining the streets will speakers and bands take the main stage.

The move became necessary because of revitalization taking place at the stadium, where the field is being replace with artificial turf, and the track is also being renovated.
