Barry P. Kimbrough Sr.

Barry P. Kimbrough Sr., of Mount Hope, passed away April 24 at age 78.

He was the beloved husband of Nancy A. Kimbrough and dear father of Sherie and husband Mark Sapp, Barry Jr. and wife Kay Kimbrough, Robin and wife Alice Kimbrough and Eric and wife Sandra Kimbrough. He is also survived by loving stepchildren, Laurie and husband Gary Learn, Heather and husband Patrick Shields of Florham Park, N.J., and Jamie M. Lawrence.

He was predeceased by Joseph P. Lawrence Jr.

Grandchildren include Andrew Sapp, Cory Sapp, Erin Willis, Brianne Roberts, Chandler Kimbrough, Brittany Kimbrough, Brandon Kimbrough, Erica Kimbrough and Benjamin Kimbrough, all of Alabama, and Ronald Lawrence, Cheektowaga, N.Y., Ashley Shields and Steven Shields, both of Florham Park, N.J., and the late Gary S. Learn.

Also, he is survived by eight great-grandchildren and five nieces and sister-in-law Lamar Van Dyke, Seattle, Wash.

He served in the U.S. Army before becoming a journeyman electrician and member of IBEW Local #558. In 2014 he was presented with an IBEW 50-year membership pin. He enjoyed the outdoors, water sports, wood working and animals, especially his devoted companion, Bobo.

Mr. Kimbrough was a member of Rock Springs Mitchell Memorial Presbyterian Church, Mount Hope.

Funeral service will be April 27 at 7 p.m. at Rock Springs Mitchell Memorial Presbyterian Church, Mount Hope, with Jess Smith and Deb Williams officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 5:30 p.m. until time of service.
