Roger Dale Grissom

Roger Dale Grissom, age 62, Russellville, passed away April 23 at his residence.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He was truly a wonderful and caring man. He loved sitting out on the porch watching his grandchildren play.

The visitation will be 6-8 p.m. April 25 at Spry Memorial Chapel. The funeral will be at 3 p.m. April 26 at Spry Memorial Chapel with Bro. Festus Grissom officiating. Burial will be at Mountain Springs Cemetery in Bankhead Forest in Moulton.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Helen Lee Grissom; children, Christopher Lee Grissom and wife Connie, Denise Grissom, Amie Dale George and husband Jeffrey Todd, Troy Nathaniel Grissom and wife Candace Ann and Tony Nathan Grissom and wife Lorie Diane; grandchildren, Christina Grissom, Byron Grissom, Derrick Grissom, Corey Green, April Green, Tosha George, Brian George, Samantha George, Jackson Grissom, Mitchell Grissom, Skylar Grissom and Jonah; great-grandchildren, Bently Hodges, Blakelynn George and Carter Harris; siblings, Sandy Jones, Wanda Baker, Connie McDonald, Jigger Grissom, Joann Ladd, Betty Grissom and Patsy Johnson; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Josphine Grissom; father, James Grissom; and brothers, Bobby Grissom and Billy Joe Grissom.

The pallbearers will be Roger Chaney, Brian George, Jeff Todd, Brandon George, George Johnson and Curtis Robert. The honorary pallbearer will be James Johnson.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to nurses, chaplain and staff of Amedysis Hospice, as well as to family that helped and stood by them through this difficult time. A special thanks to Ruby, who was there through it all.
