Thomas Rance Cleveland

Thomas Rance Cleveland, 75, Spruce Pine, passed away April 24 at Helen Keller Hospital.

Mr. Cleveland lived his entire life in Franklin County and was a member of Belgreen Church of Christ. He was a Mason Lodge #428 member, member of the Franklin County Cattlemen’s Association and former Franklin County commissioner. He served in the Alabama National Guard, 186th Engineering Company. He was employed at U.S. Reduction and retired from Chrysler with 39 years of combined service.

Visitation will be April 26 from 6-8 p.m. at Pinkard Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Jackie and Johnny Richardson and Josh Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in Knights of Pythias Cemetery.

Survivors include sons, Tom Cleveland and wife Vanessa of Decatur, Tim Cleveland and wife Tracy of Madison and Ted Cleveland and wife Wronda of Belgreen; grandchildren, Tim Cleveland Jr. and wife Tiffany, Tabetha Pinkard and husband Josh, Jessica Pannell and husband Richard and Hannah, Abigail, Addison, Tanner and Teagan Cleveland; great-grandchildren, Tripp and Tinley Cleveland and Caylin and Darby Pinkard; brother, Horace Cleveland and wife Marie of Sheffield; sister, Betty Cleveland Weatherly of Brandon, Miss.; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Ray Hargett, Wiley Beam, Johnny Barber, Frankie Taylor, Paul Cleveland, Jimmy Cleveland, Donnie Murray and Jack Hargett.

Honorary pallbearers will be the late Gene Hamilton, Don Gerrard, Tim Murray and Donald King.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Gail Cleveland; parents, Rance (R.L.) and Pauline Benson Cleveland; and brother, Hollis Cleveland.
