Watermelon T-shirt sales begin
The Watermelon Festival will be here in the blink of an eye – Aug. 19-20 – and T-shirts will be available later this month.
Watermelon Festival T-shirts will be available late May at the Franklin County Chamber of Commerce, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Shirts are available in coral, jade, gray and sky blue and youth extra-small through extra-large ($12); adult small through XL ($12); and adult 2X-4X ($15). Long-sleeved shirts are available in black small through 2X ($18).
For this year’s Watermelon Festival T-shirt, in celebration of the festival’s 36th year, Mr. Ant is hard at work, welding. This year’s tourism theme for the State of Alabama is the Year of Alabama Makers., so Franklin County is showcasing things made in Franklin County.
The Watermelon Festival has been voted a Top 20 Event of 2016 by the Southeast Tourism Society. The chamber encourages everyone to mark their calendars for Aug. 19-20 for festival food, fun, music and watermelon.
