Steven Micheal “Mike” Richardson

Steven Michael “Mike” Richardson, 60, of Blue Springs, MO, passed away peacefully June 14 at his home in Bridgeton, MO.

Mike was born February 5th, 1956, in Pineville, Louisiana, the son of Robert and Carline (Reed) Richardson. He grew up in Russellville, Alabama and graduated with pride from Auburn University of which he remained a faithful “War Eagle” throughout his life.

Mike moved to Kansas City in 1979 where he met his beloved wife of 32 years, Laura (Kelsey). They married May 26, 1984 and together raised two beautiful daughters in Blue Springs, MO where they lived for more than 20 years. Mike began his purchasing career at Allis-Chalmers and became an active member of his community. He spent his years in Blue Springs volunteering at city and school events and coaching his girls in sports and life. He opened his home to all friends and neighbors.

He was preceded in death by his father Robert, brother David, his granddaughter Evelyn Cook, and his grandparents. He is survived by his mother Carline, wife Laura, daughters Kelly Cook and Monica, son-in-law Cody Cook, brother Bobby, and several loving nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
