Lenoria Garrison

Lenoria Garrison, 84, born April 10, 1932, passed June 18, 2016.

She was loved by so many. Through her life she impacted the lives of so many young people, troubled teens and hurting children, as well as others. Many lived with her and her husband for a time. She taught them love for Jesus and also gave them a mother’s love.

She was a devoted, loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, cousin, Sunday school teacher, pastor’s wife, and friend to all for many years. She worked for NACOLG and the Foster Grandparents Program until she could not work five years ago. She will be remembered by her children and grandchildren for the unconditional love she had for them, the prayers she prayed with them and the many times she sat and taught them from the Bible.

Her multiple talents were amazing: painting, quilting and her wonderful imagination that she passed on to the next generation, like the story of the little people who lived in the grass under the flowers and only came out at night to dance and play amongst the flowers. She leaves behind a legacy of love for Christ and what a servant’s heart is about.

She is preceded in death by her husband and the love of her life she met at 16, and he was 20, straight out of WWII, William “Noie” Garrison; mother MaRandy Jones Maro, father James Maro, sister Victoria Montgomery, brothers Wallace Willard Maro and Odis Maro and a special nephew Lee Alton Maro.

She is survived by her children, Lambert Garrison (Dimple) and Connie Maggerise and husband Richard; grandchildren, Brandi Garrison and Zach Sockwell and wife Abbie; sister Veolene Maro McConnell and husband Lewis; her grandchildren by heart, Robin Maggerise Mears (Pat), Richard Maggerise and wife Maranda and Randy Maggerise; her great-grandchildren, Jasie Sockwell, and by heart Easton Maggerise, Conner Crow, Alex Crow and Bradley Crow; her special friend and pastor Carolyn Baker; her and Dad’s little boys and girls they loved so much, including Dalana Baker, Galon Baker and Floyd Baker; her nieces Toni Garrison, Karen Montgomery and JoAnn Hallman; and many more nieces, nephews, friends and family. It would be impossible to name.

Special thanks to Cornerstone Fellowship Church, Terrace Manor Nursing Home for the wonderful love and care they provided for mother during her illness and to family, as well as Dr. Vanessa Ragland, Dr. R. Reddy, Dr. Keith Morrow and North Alabama Hospice Care.

If you would like to make donations to the http://www.dementiasociety.org/, it would be wonderful.
