Ellen Almity Sutton Johnson

Ellen Almity Sutton Johnson, age 70, Russellville, passed away July 18 at her residence.

 

Mrs. Johnson was a precious lady who loved her family very much.  If you never got the chance to know her, you missed out on knowing a very kind and loving lady.  She was a mother to a lot of kids throughout her life, never turning anyone away.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

 

The visitation will be 6-8 p.m. July 20 at Spry Memorial Chapel.  The funeral will be at 2 p.m. July 21 at Spry Memorial Chapel with Bro. Brian Gramlin and James Johnson speaking at the service.  Burial will be at Spruce Pine Cemetery.

 

She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, James Johnson and wife, Olivia, George Johnson, Ellie Mae Allen and husband, Kevin; grandchildren, Trista Wolfe, Gregory Johnson, Sarah Woods, Sabrina Aday, James “Boo” Johnson (Kelly Gosa), Samantha Johnson, Hunter Allen, Angie Johnson; great-grandchildren, Austin Johnson, Tanner Aday, Kelby Aday, Danielle Wolfe, Jayden Aday, Boston Woods, Kylee Aday, Ava Woods; siblings, James Sutton, Johnny Sutton, Christeen Adams, Helen Grissom; and a host of nieces & nephews.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Raymond James Johnson, daughter, Janie Lee Johnson; son, Michael Howard Johnson; father, George Washington Sutton; and mother, Dovie Lee Franklin Sutton.

 

The pallbearers will be Clint Byrd, Boo Johnson, Chris Grissom, George Johnson, Hunter Allen and Tony Grissom.

 

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Jamie Lane and the staff of Gentiva Hospice for your love and care of our family.
